Jackson Outdoor Activities

Tucked above Jackson in the Presidential Mountain range, Black Mountain offers skiing and riding on 40 trails and glades in a spectacular scenic setting. Wander through the mountain trails on horseback or ski down the slopes in winter. Black Mountain never disappoints bed and breakfast visitors.

The Jackson Ski Touring Foundation maintains some of the nation’s best cross-country skiing trails. Start your day at the Jackson XC Base Lodge to get acquainted with the trails, rent any equipment you might need, sign up for instruction, and purchase your trail passes. After orienting yourself, you’ll be all set to head out and have fun!

Visit Wildcat Mountain during the summer and fall to ride the Wildcat Express, New Hampshire’s highest 4-person gondola ride, and marvel over breathtaking views before casting your line in the trout pond. During winter and spring, the quad chairlift keeps you skiing on the slopes and not wrapped up waiting in lines. Visit the Summit observation deck, unwind during a picnic lunch, and enjoy beautiful foliage or winter wonderland views. From trails that urge you to conquer them to those that encourage a more relaxed run, Wildcat Mountain is a fantastic ski destination.

During the warm summer months, head to North Conway for canoeing, kayaking and mountain climbing and enjoy some fun in the sun in a gorgeous mountain setting before you head back to your bed and breakfast to unwind in an Adirondack chair on the porch or soak in the hot tub.
