East Hampton Attractions

The Town of East Hampton includes the village of East Hampton, and four unincorporated hamlets; Montauk, Amangasett, Wainscott and Springs. The East Hampton Historical Society does an outstanding job of keeping the spirit of East Hampton's past alive and exciting. From providing guided tours, historical reenactments, workshops, lectures and exhibits, the bed and breakfast visitor can get a real feel for East Hampton's history. The East Hampton Historical Society maintains museums and historical landmarks such as the Mulford Farm and Barn, Town House, Osborn-Jackson House, Clinton Academy and the East Hampton Town Marine Museum. The beauty of the buildings and gardens, as well as the historical information, will prove to be enlightening and stimulating. Home Sweet Home, an early 18th century lean-to, is an excellent example of American traditional house design. Known as East Hampton's most distinguished house, it is unadorned, simple and unpainted, and weathered by time. The three windmills that still stand today in East Hampton are Hook Mill, Pantigo Mill and Gardiners Mill. Although picturesque, these mills serve as a reminder of American craftsmanship as well as technology that helped the community survive. The bed and breakfast visitor who doesn't mind a little exercise can enjoy the view from the Montauk Point Lighthouse Museum. Climbing the 110 foot tower, the bed and breakfast adventurer can view the ocean and the coastline, and then investigate the artifacts of New York's first lighthouse commissioned by George Washington. East Hampton's Whaling Museum housed in the mansion built by a whaling ship magnate highlights the whaling industry that spirited the economic development of East Hampton.

For the bed and breakfast visitor looking for more active pursuits, East Hampton's seaside location offers world-class beaches, excellent fishing, boat tours, kayaking and surfing. Discuss your options with your bed and breakfast innkeepers to get the best provider of the adventure you are seeking. Golf is also an option at East Hampton's three courses. East Hampton also boast three wineries nearby; Wolffer Estates, Channing Daughters Winery and Duck Walk Vineyards. Take advantage of the opportunity to taste something new and perhaps buy a bottle or two to enjoy in the tranquil comfort of your bed and breakfast suite.

Take time to rest and relax in your comfortable bed and breakfast surrounding.
