Things to do in Cooperstown

Home to the Baseball Hall of Fame opened on June 12, 1939, Cooperstown offers a step back in time. More than 350,000 people travel to Cooperstown each year to pay tribute to our National Pastime by visiting the Hall of Fame. All donated, the Museum features 35,000 items such as bats, balls, gloves, caps, helmets, uniforms, shoes, trophies, awards and 130,000 baseball cards. Next door to the Museum, baseball enthusiasts both young and old can partake in their favorite pastime at the Doubleday Batting Range.

Nearby you may enjoy a ride on a go-Karts or Bumper boat at Cooperstown Fun Park. If you would like to slow down the pace a little, take a guided walking tour of the village's historical sites or a boat tour around beautiful Otsego Lake. As the day comes to a close, consider a Candlelight Ghost Tour of historical haunted houses. The Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival will entertain you at one of their jazz or contemporary music concerts. The Alice Busch Opera Theater, located 8 miles outside town on an intimate and natural farm setting, has been home to more than 50 different productions since its inauguration and features the Glimmerglass Opera and performing arts festival. Whatever you choose to do in this historical, all American city, plan your itinerary in advance and don't miss out on all the magnificent history Cooperstown has to offer.
