If culture and entertainment are close to your heart, then Balboa Park is not to be missed. America’s largest urban culture park, Balboa Park hosts fifteen museums, a crowd of eight lush gardens hosting several different horticultural mixes, celebrated performing arts venues and, most famously, the San Diego Zoo, which is home to more than four thousand endangered & rare animals.

For more wild life adventures, San Diego also offers the Wild Animal Park, a free-range enclosure park and Sea World, which has awed over 100 million visitors since opening in 1964 with the amazing animal shows and exhibits, and is home to the world famous killed whale Shamu Shows. Also great for children is the theme park Legoland, which has rides made to look as though built out of Lego bricks and with many rides themed after certain “sets” of the toy.

A trip to San Diego would not be complete with a visit to the famous Hotel Del Coronado. As a National Historic Landmark, it is a fascinating American treasure with over 115 years of stories to tell. You might recognize this architectural masterpiece in “Some Like It Hot” which was filmed at the hotel in 1958.
