Dining Out

Asheville boasts a variety of eateries that go well beyond its Southern cooking and barbecue roots. Dining in downtown Asheville can be an adventure with menu choices that range from Mexican to vegetarian, and from four-star restaurants to country diners.

If Irish fare is what warms your soul, Hannah Flanagan's serves some of the finest Irish draft and bottled beers available. Pub fare specialties include Corned Beef & Cabbage, Shepherds Pie, lamb dishes and more, and there’s live music throughout the week and on the weekends.

Horizons is one of Asheville’s finest dining spots - among one of only seven North Carolina restaurants to receive four diamonds from AAA. The menu features American favorites such as Kobe Beef Filet, Lobster on the Half Shell, and medallions of wild boar, ostrich and antelope. Reservations and formal attire are required.

Quality and creativity are the driving forces behind the Laughing Seed’s approach to vegetarian dining. Local products, organic ingredients and a flair for global fusion combine to give their dishes a unique and satisfying character. They have received numerous awards for inventive dishes like Wild Mushroom Enchiladas, the Indian Thali Plate and Tico Tacos.
