Santa Barbara, California City Guide
For over 20 years, Pamela Lanier's Santa Barbara, California Travel Guide has been your connection to Santa Barbara's tourism community with invaluable details on local attractions, restaurants, shopping, museums, history, outdoor recreation and more.
Parks & Gardens
The parks and gardens throughout the Santa Barbara area are magnificent. If you just want to relax and enjoy a good book while the kids play, visit Alameda Park, the oldest park in the city. There's a super playground with swings, slides and a castle. Every year the Summer Solstice is hosted on park grounds. After the kids are done playing, guide them across the street to the Alice Keck Park Memorial Gardens to see the turtles and Koi in the man-made pond. At the Shoreline Park you might catch a glimpse of a whale off in the distance. Nature lovers will thoroughly enjoy the beautiful flowers, the native plant life and the hiking trails around the flowing waters of Mission Creek at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden.
