Astoria is a town rich in history. There are many museums and sights that will bring alive the past. Visit the Columbia River Maritime Museum with its enormous collection of artifacts, models, paintings and displays in its 24,000 square feet of space.

The winter quarters for Lewis and Clark have been replicated at Ft. Clatsop National Memorial. They demonstrate how to make candles, clothing, and build a canoe.

Astoria offers miles of beautiful, sandy, Pacific Ocean beaches. Winsurfing, surfing and fishing are popular pasttimes. For the more romantic, enjoy a quite walk on the beach during sunset.

A visit to Astoria would not be complete without climbing the Astoria Column. Climb the164 stairs to the top and be rewarded with an incredible view of the Columbia River, Mt. St. Helens and the Pacific Ocean.
