Santa Cruz, California City Guide
For over 20 years, Pamela Lanier's Santa Cruz, California Travel Guide has been your connection to Santa Cruz's tourism community with invaluable details on local attractions, restaurants, shopping, museums, history, outdoor recreation and more.
On Shore
A visit to a local winery, a sunset walk along West Cliff Drive or a picnic at the Moore Creek Preserve on the north coast are some of the most romantic experiences you will ever have. It seems that every view of Santa Cruz is better than the next, especially in spring when the coastal wildflowers are in bloom. But there is more to “love” in Santa Cruz.Take a visit to the “Mystery Spot,” a gravitational anomaly located in the redwood forests just outside of Santa Cruz. The 150 foot circular area defies the laws of gravity and some theorists even believe this phenomenon is caused by a spacecraft buried deep in the ground. It is something you really need to see to believe! The kids might also enjoy a trip to the Long Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, a working marine laboratory. There is an aquarium as well as live exhibits, touch tanks, where you can actually hold sea creatures and an incredible overlook of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
