Outdoor Adventures
Stowe is world famous for its outdoor activities and adventures. Standing at 4,395 feet tall (the highest point in Vermont), Mount Mansfield creates a magnificent backdrop for this charming New England town. In the winter, skiers and snowboarders flock to Stowe to experience the mountains’ rough terrain. Winter in Stowe is renowned, not only for its skiing, but also for its ice skating, snow shoeing, dogsledding, snowmobiling, and sleigh rides available in and around Stowe. Each January, the Stowe Winter Carnival comes to town, further transforming Stowe into a winter wonderland. Activities for both young and old are made available to the public, from sport events, to Ice Carving Competitions, Snow Volleyball Tournaments, Ski Races, Movies, a Kid’s Carnival, and the infamous Village Night Block Party.
In the spring and summer, bed and breakfast guests will enjoy Stowe's many hiking and biking trails, horseback riding, fishing, canoeing and kayaking, golf, tennis, and swimming in its many lakes and rivers. In the fall, nature lovers will surely enjoy the splendor of Stowe’s foliage from their bed and breakfast. For the more adventurous at heart, rock climbing on Smugglers Notch provides quite a view of the changing season below.
