Dining

Charlottesville is blessed with a wonderful array of restaurants that accommodate all tastes and budgets. Many of these restaurants offer live entertainment, while others entice tourists and locals with more exclusive dining.

“The Corner” offers a first hand taste of student life. Coffee shops, bars, and delis are well represented, but many places offer sit-down meals. Choose from burgers at the Biltmore Grill, Mexican at Baja Bean Company, or Italian at the Mellow Mushroom. Well known fast-food chains can be found on Emmet Street, which is one of the main thoroughfares through the city. For those with a more refined palate, local vineyards offer tours and wine tastings.

The Downtown Mall has a variety of dining venues that offer anything from international cuisine to down home cooking. For those seeking outdoor dining and music, try Miller’s, Rapture or the Moondance Café. Other establishments include Revolutionary Soup, Mudhouse for coffee and dessert, and the Blue Light Grill for excellent bistro fare.
