Charlottesville Shopping
The Downtown Mall again is the place to go for an eclectic shopping experience. Specialty shops selling trendy merchandise fit right in with many restaurants that showcase local musicians. "The Corner," across from the Rotunda, offers bookstores, t-shirt shops, and university souvenirs.
Fashion Square Mall has something for everyone. This shopping center sits in the U.S. 29 corridor north of the city and has four anchor stores. Specialty shops include Eddie Bauer, Anne Taylor, American Eagle Outfitters, Abercrombie and Fitch, and more. Barracks Road Shopping Center, located near the University of Virginia, houses a large number of retailers like Barnes and Noble, Old Navy and Talbots, while Albemarle Square, north of Fashion Square Mall, offers several select stores, a fitness center, and a public library. After your shopping expedition, return to the comfort and convenience of your Charlottesville bed and breakfast and partake of the afternoon wine and cheese as you look through your shopping bags and delight in the wonderful purchases you made.
