The Outdoors
Seattle's natural beauty is inspiring. Without even leaving the city, you can enjoy scenic golf, kayaking and canoeing, fishing and hiking, and city parks that include Discovery Park and the Rose Gardens. Within a short drive, you can find skiing, snowboarding, river rafting, hiking and gems like Mt. Rainier National Park, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, North Cascades National Park, Olympic National Park and Rainforest, and Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
Green Lake Park offers swimming and windsurfing and trails that are favorites among joggers and walkers. Lake Union is the perfect venue for sailing, as well as sea and white-water kayaking. Seattle has a number of ski areas within an easy drive, including Snoqualmie Pass and Stevens Pass.
