Seattle Activities

Perhaps it is because Seattle has a fair amount of rain and overcast weather that when the sun does shine, everyone heads outdoors. The locals have come to enjoy some activities even when it’s raining. The landscape provides opportunities for many outdoor adventures albeit some may be seasonal. Bicycling is by far Seattle’s most popular form of exercise as evident by the number of people who cycle to work. The bed and breakfast cyclist may find bicycling more enjoyable on trails where you won’t need to share the road with cars. Ask your bed and breakfast innkeepers for the best locations for the type of cycling you’re interested in.
Kayaking, golf, hiking, horseback riding and rock climbing are all wonderful ways to enjoy both the outdoors and the beautiful scenery that surrounds Seattle. Of course, in winter, the snow in the mountains will entice the bed and breakfast skiers and snowboarders.
If you prefer your sports as a spectator rather than a participant Seattle has four major professional sports teams. Your bed and breakfast innkeepers can assist with schedules and ticket procurement. The Seattle Seahawks football, Seattle Mariners baseball, Seattle Storm soccer and Seattle Storm women’s basketball teams call Seattle home and if you enjoy collegiate sports the University of Washington and Seattle University have NCAA Division I teams.
