What To Do in Tacoma

There is so much to see and do it’s phenomenal. Ruston Way Waterfront is a superb place to relax and enjoy the water views of the Commencement Bay and the Puget Sound. Joggers and bikers frequent the two-mile stretch along the waterfront. The famous “Restaurant Row,” adjacent the water, offers a wide selection of dining to entice the most selective of palates. Dinner by the waterfront and the theatre may be just the thing. Or perhaps more excitement is on the evening’s agenda. The Emerald Queen Casino might be just the place to roll the dice or play the slots.

An evening at the “Theater District” is definitely for those who appreciate the arts. Enjoy a concert, a band, a play, a symphony, or a comedy show at one of the three theaters. Check out the Theatre on the Square that hosts many year round events. Pull up a seat and relax to The Tacoma Symphony Orchestra as they delight the senses with some of the most outstanding music scores, such as The Phantom of the Opera at historical 89-year-old Pantages Theater.

After all the historical sites are exhausted, enjoy the Old Town Business Association on the historic waterfront and browse through the unique gift shops. Take a run over to Antique Row’s many antique and collectible shops. There’s no problem getting there, just take the Tacoma Link Rail to the Theater District. The best part is that it’s free. The Art Walk at Downtown Tacoma is every third Thursday of the month, starting at 5:00 p.m. and ending at 8:00 p.m.
