The festivals and fairs, the schools and community, the pristine scenery and fascinating history, and most importantly the friends, neighbors and people of Cambridge make it a village second to none.
There are always plenty of seasonal activities and event that take place in Cambridge. In May, Cambridge celebrates Memorial Day with a parade downtown. The festivities also include “Dogs On Parade”. June is a busy month with the Cambridge Art Fair held every year on the 1st Saturday in June, followed by the Pottery Festival and Pottery Games, held on the 2nd Saturday in June, the Friday Night in the Park outdoor movie – old fashioned fun, and closing out with the Lions Annual Fishoree. The ever popular Cambridge Area EMS Cannonball Run with a 1 mile, 5 or 10K run around the scenic north side of Lake Ripley, takes place in July. Friday and Saturday Maxwell Street Days hosts the best and biggest bargains of the year with the sidewalk sales on Main Street in August. The Friends of the Library Used Book Sale with a vast selection of used books is takes place during Maxwell Street Days, at the Amundson Center. The Lake Ripley Car Show is typically held the first Sunday in September. All proceeds from this event benefit the Health and Wellness Center and Cambridge Athletic Department – filled with activities for the whole family. September is also host to the Walk in the Park Antique Show held in the village square, and the Fall Harvest Festival held downtown Cambridge. Local artist come together on the last weekend in October for the Earth, Wood, & Fire Annual Local Artists Tour. There is always plenty to experience in Cambridge.
