Colorado Springs Attractions

Given the fine weather that attracts bed and breakfast visitors to Colorado Springs, it is only natural that many of the things you will want to see and do during your bed and breakfast stay are also outdoors.
Garden of the Gods, which is enclosed by a city park, offers a wonderful view and the opportunity to enjoy hiking or technical rock climbing on a series of incredible sandstone rock formations. Colorado's most famous mountain, Pikes Peak, was the inspiration for the writing of the song America the Beautiful. Drive your car to the top, or enjoy the photo opportunity provided by the Cog Rail, while ascending to the peak. Hikers can reach the summit along the Barr Trail while enjoying the wild flowers in summer. Runners can keep pace during the Pikes Peak Ascent and during the Pikes Peak Marathon runners ascend and descend the mountain. If you choose to take one of the guided tours, you'll learn about the historical tales associated with the caves. At the foot of Pikes Peak, is the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. Step back in time some seven hundred years ago and witness how the Anasazi, Native Americans lived. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo houses five hundred and fifty animals, which represent one hundred and nineteen different species, thirty of which are endangered. The African Rift Valley, the zoos newest exhibit, features reticulated giraffes, meerkats, river hogs, zebras, and other exotic animals. Stop along the Russell Tutt Scenic Highway and the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun, as they are included in the zoo admission. Colorado Springs has a host of museums covering a wide variety of interests that the bed and breakfast tourist can visit. Some to consider include the following; May Natural History Museum, ProRodeo Hall of Fame, and Museum of the American Cowboy, Ghost Town Museum, Western Museum of Mining and Industry, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, and Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum. Your bed and breakfast innkeepers are a great source of reference when it comes to the things you may want to see and do.
Colorado Springs is a wonderful place for outdoor adventures. Consider hiking, horseback riding, cycling, rock climbing or whitewater rafting. Your bed and breakfast hosts would delight in advising you about purveyors for equipment and tour organizers. Fishing and golfing are also great options for bed and breakfast adventurers looking for a less rigorous activity.
