Sardis Lake Recreation Areas
Sardis Lake, MS, on the Tallahatchie River, is known for its sand beaches and fishing opportunities. A State Park (see link below) with swimming pool, recreation hall, cabins and a golf course is located at Sardis Lake.


Holly Springs National Forest
The Holly Springs National Forest covers over 155,000 acres and is just a short distance away from Oxford. The National Forests are managed for many different resources and uses.


Chewalla Lake Recreation Area
Fishing, camping, and hiking are available at this 260 acre lake located about 45 minutes northwest of Oxford.


Puskus Lake Recreation Area
Closest to Oxford, the Puskus Lake area minutes away from the square. Camping, fishing, and hiking, are available.


Tillatoba Lake Recreation Area
Primitive camping is available here in this popular fishing spot.


Wall Doxey State Park
Everything from primitive camping and RV camping areas to air conditioned cabins are at Wall Doxey. A visitor's room offers meeting and banquet facilities. Other amenities include nature trails, picnic areas, playground, and playing fields, disc golf, and a boat launch area.


John W. Kyle State Park
Accommodations include primitive camping and RV facilities, and cabins. A visitor's room offers meeting and banquet facilities. A junior Olympic size swimming pool is located near the cabin area. Picnic areas and shelters include views of the lake and barbecue grills. Other amenities include nature trails, playing fields, tennis courts, a golf course, and a boat launch area.

Double Decker Festival
Taking its name from the town's authentic double decker bus imported from England in 1994, the festival brings together visitors and residents alike for a daylong celebration of music, food, and the arts held on the picturesque Courthouse Square.


Mid-Town Farmers' Market
Vendors will have a variety of locally-grown and produced fruits, vegetables, eggs, dairy items, baked goods, herbs, flowers and potted plants. The market also features weekly musical entertainment and monthly children's activities.


Annual Faulkner and Yoknapatawpha Conference
