Natural Wonders and Recreational Fun

Thousands from all over the country are discovering what thousands of Texans have known for years: New Braunfels is the home of incredible natural wonders, history, and fun. Discover an incredible underground world of natural beauty at Natural Bridge Caverns. Designated a State Historical Site and National Natural Landmark, Natural Bridge Caverns is the largest and most spectacular show cavern in Texas. Be sure to experience the Watchtower Challenge climbing wall and zip line. Also, visit the Natural Bridge Mining Company. A gift shop, snack bar, and picnic grounds are also available. Open year ‘round.

New Braunfels is also where you’ll find “The World’s Best Waterpark”, Sclitterbahn Waterpark Resort” (voted the best water park in America for ten years in a row!). Here, the whole family can enjoy miles of tube chutes, endless rivers, uphill water coasters, waves for surfing, splashing, and relaxing, and kid-friendly water playgrounds.

The outdoor adventures continue with a visit to Canyon Lake. Nestled among steep and wooded hills, 8,240-acre Canyon Lake is one of the deepest and most scenic lakes in Texas. With 80 miles of shoreline and an average depth of 43-feet, Canyon Lake features eight public parks with excellent outdoor recreation opportunities. Activities include camping, fishing, swimming, SCUBA diving, picnicking, wildlife viewing, boating, and other water sports. While in the area be sure to check out the Dinosaur Tracks preserve at the Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country. Discovered here is probably the most prolific site of tracks in Texas, believed to date back roughly 100 million years ago!
