Every summer Salt Spring Island hosts the annual Lavender Festival, delighting visitors with the sensual aroma of lavender as they enjoy Scottish dancing, shiatsu massage, crafts, food and beverages, and of course the beautiful sight of lavender fields!

The Fall Fair is Salt Spring Island’s oldest annual community event, during which more than 1,500 entrants compete under categories such as livestock, horticulture, wine and food, hobbies and crafts. Children are encouraged to compete, exhibiting Lego models, decorated cakes, photography, best-dressed pets, and much more!

Be sure to visit one of Canada’s most beloved outdoor markets, the Salt Spring Island Saturday Market. Every Saturday from March through October, oceanside at Centennial Park, the market offers internationally acclaimed arts and crafts from potters and jewelers to woodworkers and fiber artists. Peruse the market, listen to some live music and sample delicious cheeses and organic foods.

At the end of September, take part in the annual Apple Festival and visit the local apple farms known for their tasty selection of wholesome apples. With an apple history that dates back to 1860, Salt Spring Island is the perfect place to sample sweet, crisp apples, sink your teeth into warm, buttery apple pie, settle down to watch live theatre performances and learn firsthand why Salt Spring Island is so proud of its apple heritage.

Music and Munch is a popular performance series offered on Wednesdays throughout the summer and the first Wednesday of the month during the remainder of the year. Music and Munch delights guests with musical performances from a variety of genres, including classical, jazz, Renaissance, piano, choral, and brass. The music series is held at All Saints Church by the Sea and is followed by a delicious catered lunch for $5.50.
