Festivals
Festivals are a celebration of life in gorgeous Victoria, and whatever time of year you are visiting there is bound to be several to choose from especially along the harbor. The Tall Ships Festival celebrates the maritime heritage of the sailing vessels and you're more than welcome to come aboard. The Dragon Boat Festival is a popular summer cultural racing event that takes place on the inner harbor. But a truly great event is the Symphony Splash; the Victoria Symphony performs a magnificent concert on a barge that is moored in the harbor. There are lots of fun activities for the children, delicious food and for the finale the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets will fire cannons and the sky will light up with a dazzling display of fireworks. The JazzFest International is ten wonderful days and nights of performances by over 300 musicians and the Latin and Caribbean festivals are filled with cultural fun for everyone.
