Gardens & Parks
Victoria is known as the "City of Gardens" and after you have visited a few you will understand why. Perhaps you may want to visit Butchart Gardens to see the uniqueness of a sunken garden that was built in a limestone quarry and to smell the sweet aroma of the gardens lavish multi hued rose gardens. But when you're ready to unwind a bit, afternoon tea with lemon poppy seed loaf at one of the garden's restaurants is a perfect way to end the day. If you're in the mood for a walk in the park, a picnic, or a lazy afternoon with a good book by the edge of a rippling lake, go to the Beacon Hill Park. This impressive 200-acre park is a natural paradise that is filled with exotic native plants and trees. If you watch closely, you may catch a glimpse of some interesting wildlife and there's even a petting zoo that the kids will love. Hikers and nature lovers will truly be fascinated by the grandeur of Goldstream Park. The park is located in a rain forest where all sorts of wildlife make their home and offers camping accommodations.
