Things to See in Antigua

If you can pull yourself away from the serenity of your bed and breakfast, there is a whole city that is waiting to be explored! Antigua is bustling but small—the best way to see it is on your feet. That way you can see every nook and cranny—and Antigua has a lot of those! The cobblestoned streets and brightly colored stone and brick buildings look like something out of a fairy tale. The easiest way to make sure you catch all the sights is to take a walking tour with Elizabeth Bell-- an American transplant who has lived in Antigua since 1969 and who knows Antigua like the back of her hand. She'll lead you from the stunning fountain in the busy, thronging main square and on to all the ancient Colonial capital buildings, a factory where you can witness jade being made, and point out to you all the unique little spots that make Antigua distinctly wonderful. If you wish to forego an official tour, rest assured that Antigua is still yours to discover! Your bed and breakfast host will lead you in the right direction. Pay special attention to the Palace of City Hall, a grand building that flanks the city square, and the Cathedral on the other side of the square which is the spiritual center of the city.
