Easter in Antigua
If you're planning a trip to Antigua, one of the liveliest weeks to go is Easter. You’ll have to contact your bed and breakfast well in advance as this is one of the busiest seasons for Antigua bed and breakfasts. Antigua offers the biggest and most beautiful Lent celebration in the Americas, complete with beautiful colors, traditional masks and robes and a parade of floats. You can observe the celebration and parades, or you can even take part in the "Carpets" tradition, where tourists and visitors can follow the procession on beautifully laid out, dazzling colored carpet. In Antigua, the visitor is treated like family and encouraged to participate. Thousands of people show up for this event; but if the festivities become a little too loud for you, the privacy and quietness of your bed and breakfast is never far away. Antigua is truly the jewel of Central America, a city that beckons you with its warmth, hospitality and jovial approach to life. There will be a sadness in your heart as your bus or van pulls away you’re your Antigua bed and breakfast, headed for the city "outside the walls." And a small piece of your heart will always be there, "inside the walls," protected and safe, waiting for you to return.
