Museums
A pleasant way to learn about the history and culture of Guadalajara is to spend a day or two touring the city's museums. Ideally, you want to start in the downtown district at the Regional Museum of Guadalajara. Here you will enjoy the museum's saber tooth tiger, fossil display and paintings by Mexican and European Artists. Afterwards, stop at the City Museum for insight into the city's origins and layout. To get a feel for the pre-Hispanic cultures, check out the artifacts and the exhibitions at the Archaeological Museum. Art enthusiasts must visit the Museum of the Arts where they will find extensive collections, including pristine sculptures. Two murals by renowned Mexican artist Jose' Clemente Orozco can be found in this gallery.
