Martinborough has hosted the popular annual fairs organized by the South Wairarapa Rotary Club since 1977, each February and March. The burgeoning wine industry brings in weekend and holiday visitors from Wellington. Renovation and expansion of the town's commercial centre, growth of homestays, restaurants and planned subdivisions, indicate Martinborough's new lease of life. The town also hosts the annual "Toast Martinborough" wine and food festival an event patronized by up to 9,000 people!
