Go ahead, find a market near your own bed and breakfast and get lost in the endless stalls of local merchants and fine craftsmanship. Ask your bed and breakfast innkeeper for their favorite shopping spots and/or hidden treasures. The local Jamaican cigars will give the Cubans a run for their money and the wooden, hand carved products are delightful.
