Water Adventures
Montego Bay Undersea Tours
Jamaica’s Caribbean Sea is home to a diversity of underwater life. Explore these hundreds of sea creatures up-close-and-personal aboard a submarine-like boat complete with an underwater viewing compartment six feet below the surface. Sit in air-conditioned comfort while coral, fish, turtles, and stingrays pass inches from your vantage point.
Water Sports
For adventure seekers, ask your bed and breakfast for a list of shops and vendors that rent out water sports equipment. Give scuba diving, snorkeling, parasailing, kayaking, jet skiing, or white water rafting a try in Montego Bay’s crystal clear waters. Your innkeeper is your best source of referrals, so don’t hesitate to ask for their suggestions as there is so much to do, you might have to narrow it down a bit. For the novice, start slowly with snorkeling and kayaking. For more adventure and increased exposure to the marine life, try scuba diving. Your innkeeper may be able to recommend a Dive Shop where you can pick up your Open Water certification with just a few days of intensive training. For thrill seekers, parasailing and jet skiing offer a bit more action, but what out for swimmers!
Doctor’s Cave Beach
This world famous five-mile beach named after the local doctor who donated the land and the now-closed coastal cave, is the number one beach destination in Montego Bay. Designate a few days during your stay in Montego Bay to bask in the sun on this lovely beach. Gather your beach towels, sunscreen, and maybe even a Jamaican patty or two and head out to the beach for some much needed relaxation. Make sure you leave your bed and breakfast early to claim your very own spot on the white sandy expanse. Let yourself get drawn in to the translucent water known for its enriching mineral content. This clean and inviting beach also offers a food court and beach bar that are sure to keep your taste buds satisfied. Bed and breakfast visitors beware, the sun, sea and Red Stripe can be a lethal combination on your skin, stay hydrated and take a break from the sun every so often.
