Getting Around Melbourne

The different districts that make up Melbourne are what make the city so special. There is a unique local flavor in each neighborhood, however, the friendly and open nature of the Melbourne locals remain consistent. Bed and breakfast travelers are encouraged to leave the district their bed and breakfast is in and explore Melbourne thoroughly. However, bed and breakfast travelers will discover that Melbourne has a wonderful public transportation system that makes it easy to see the gorgeous city. Within the city centre, everything is easily navigated on your own two feet. Museums, theatres, restaurants, bars and shops are all within easy access. To get outside the city centre, however, there is a wonderful tram and train system that will take bed and breakfast visitors anywhere they need to go. To get to the outer districts of Melbourne, or to go out in the larger reaches of Victoria, bed and breakfast visitors will want to catch a train at Flinders Street Station, which is the hub of the train system in Melbourne. For the city itself, as well as the inner suburbs, the Melbourne tram system cannot be beat. Bed and breakfast visitors will find that the trams run often, are inexpensive and offer great views of the city as they move up and down the city streets. Easily posted street signs will show bed and breakfast visitors where to enter and exit the trams. The Melbourne bus system is another option for checking out the city. With over 300 routes, there is a bus that will get you where you need to go.
