San Miguel de Allende Activities
San Miguel de Allende’s Jardin Botanico El Charco del Ingenio is the perfect place to enjoy hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding. For the bed and breakfast enthusiast interested in a more rigorous workout, you can rock climb as there are cliffs with varying degrees of difficulty as well as trained guides to insure your protection and the conservation of the wildlife. The Orquideario Los Pocitos has an orchid collection that must be seen to be appreciated for its diversity of species. Jardin Botanico CANTE is a research facility dedicated to the studying of the native habitat and the species that thrive. There are over 1000 cactus and orchid species being cultivated here.
If you’re thinking of taking to the open sky and don’t mind a short drive there is paragliding and skydiving available with trained instructors to supervise your adventure. After such heightened activity you might want to consider a game of golf or a visit to a spa for a deep muscle massage, facial or mud wrap. Your bed and breakfast innkeepers can assist you with making arrangements for whichever activities seem most appealing after a busy day sightseeing.
Perhaps you’d also like to spend some time poolside soaking up the sun. Within six miles of San Miguel de Allende are three swimming resorts with pools, thermal spring waters, picnic areas and restaurants. Be sure to pack your sunscreen and water as the sun and comfortable dry air can fool you with a nasty burn and dehydration. Also remember to limit your activity level until you adjust the high altitude as you will tire easily the first few days.
