How to Get There

The easiest way to get to Troncones is by rental car. Check with your bed and breakfast innkeepers ahead of time to ensure parking at the B&B won’t be an issue and finalize directions with them as well. Troncones is just 40 minutes from the Zihuantenjo-Ixtapa International Airport, about 30 miles north. You’ll follow Highway 200 north before you finish the trip to Troncones on country roads. Watch for semi trucks driving really fast, and always be on the lookout for chickens, dogs, pigs, and iguanas! You can also reach Troncones by local micro-bus (“chicken” bus) and taxi cab. A one-way cab ride costs approximately $18 U.S. You’ll be greeted by your friendly innkeepers upon arrival at your Troncones bed and breakfast and will almost immediately be handed a cold drink and perhaps offered an afternoon snack.
