Along with the Cabo Jazz Festival hosted in July every year, is the East Cape Big Game Blow Out consisting of a two day fishing tourney with over $20,000 in prizes. In August, in nearby Los Barriles, coordinated by the Baja Sur State Department of Tourism and local resorts is the Bisbee Annual East Cape Offshore Tournament.

During the month of September, the Annual Avalon Billfish Classic is takes place in the famed California waters off Avalon on Catalina Island. The Riviera Zane Grey Invitational Marlin Tournament follows and is the most exclusive fishing tournament in California, with a cash purse over $350,000. It memorializes this great writer for his leadership role in modern day sport fishing. The end of September, on Catalina Island, is the Hatteras Catalina Classic Marlin Tournament, Southern California's largest billfish tournament. Presented by Hatteras Yachts, the event sees 100 teams with 600 anglers competing for more than $350,000 in cash and prizes.

October is a busy event month with the festival of St Luke's Day - the Patron Saint of Cabo San Lucas. Expect lots of dancing in the streets, music and specially arranged local events to mark the day. The Cabos Billfish Tournament, the Annual Bisbee Black & White Marlin Jackpot Tournament ($2M purse), and the Annual For Pete’s Sake Fishing Tournament cap off the month’s activities.

One of the more beautify events celebrated is the Day of the Dead, Día de Muertos, a key festival in Cabo San Lucas and nationwide on the second of November with preparatory celebrations beginning the evening before. Gloriously colorful, decorated altars are erected in the town's main square, Plaza Amelia Wilkes, to pay respect to deceased loved ones.

The biggest tuna fishing tournament in Baja with $600,000 in prizes is hosted in November, followed by the Annual WBS World Tour Grand Championship in December. The World Billfish Series is dedicated to promoting a lifestyle committed to sportsmanship, healthy competition and marine conservation.

Ongoing Cultural Events & Exhibitions include the Baja Business People’s Meeting held the first Wednesday of every month. Open on Sundays are the San Jose del Cabo Organic Market, the San José Jockey Club; La Playa Organic and Artisan Market.
