Treasure Beach Activities & Outings
While in Treasure Beach you’ll find four public beaches and a handful of small coves perfect for swimming and body surfing in the majestic Caribbean waters. Some spots along the reef offer wonderful opportunities for snorkeling and getting an up-close look at colorful Caribbean fish. Check with your bed and breakfast innkeeper about borrowing snorkeling supplies, if you don’t already have your own.
Bike your way along flat or hilly terrain in Treasure Beach or hike through meadows and along the coast. After your afternoon excursion, don’t fail to stop by one of the small rum bars for a cold drink before returning to your bed and breakfast!
Marvel over the sheer intensity of Lover’s Leap, a 1,700 foot cliff overhanging the sea where two slave lovers jumped to their deaths rather than be separated. The area is open 9am to 5pm Monday through Saturday.
Not far outside of Treasure Bay, you’ll find many exciting activities. Head to Bamboo Avenue, a picturesque 2 ½ mile stretch of bamboo trees that arch to form a natural tunnel, take a tour of the Appleton Rum Factory and experience a true legend in Jamaica and sample cane juice or high wine or many flavorful rums, tour the coffee factory and learn about roasting and grinding and packaging Jamaican coffee, hit the links at the oldest golf club in the Western Hemisphere as you golf 9 or 18 holes at the Manchester Golf Club, soak away your stresses at the Milk River mineral baths, and explore Bob Marley’s birthplace in rural Jamaica. Shoppers will flock to Santa Cruz, the most central town in the parish of St. Elizabeth and home to vendors and small shops offering bargains and selling a wide variety of supplies.
There are so many exciting day trips you can enjoy near Treasure Beach. Ask your bed and breakfast innkeeper for ideas and suggestions as you plan your outings.
