Bar Harbor Museums

The Abbe Museum showcases an excellent collection of Native American artifacts. Archeologists can be observed preserving artifacts that have recently been recovered and visitors will also find the exhibits and videos focusing on Maine and other New England tribes educational.
Just around the corner the bed and breakfast historian will find the Bar Harbor Historical Society. Here you’ll see artifacts of life in the old days. The grand old hotels are featured as is the landscape architect Beatrix Ferrand.
The George B. Dorr Museum of Natural History, located on the campus of College of the Atlantic emphasizes the interactions between the island residents and their environment.
The museums are opened during the summer months but your bed and breakfast hosts can advise you about arranging off season admission.
