Shopping

If you were drawn here by our scenic beauty, you certainly won't be disappointed. But the scenery in our shop windows is pretty irresistible, too! Just wait till you feast your eyes on the array of attractive and unusual shops. Come browse, chat with the storekeepers, and choose some special keepsakes to remind you of your visit.

Pottery and paintings, jewelry, quilts and weavings, glasswork, sculpture, photography, decoys, and woodwork are just some of the lovely things you'll find. The price range is broad, and there'll surely be something that begs to go home with you.

You'll want to stop at the studios of several artisans as well as the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in West Rockport, where works by students, instructors, and some of the country’s finest makers are displayed and offered for sale.

Throughout the year, a group of nearly two dozen area artists and artisans offers a tour brochure (available from the Chamber office) with listings and a map to point the way to their studios. They invite you not only to view and purchase their art, but also to talk with them about it and perhaps even watch as they work.
