Illinois Bed and Breakfast

Chicago, Illinois' most populous city, is located in the Northern region along the southwest shore of Lake Michigan. Today the city has much to be proud of as its tall office towers give rise to the economic development of the area. The presence of theater, museums, performing arts and a dynamic music scene make it a perfect bed and breakfast getaway, any time of year.

Central Illinois, also known as the "Heart of Illinois," consists of flat prairie and farmland providing a more peaceful bed and breakfast destination. There are National Wildlife Refuges for large grazing animals, waterfowl and shorebirds that make a perfect outing for bed and breakfast nature lover. Have your B&B innkeepers pack a picnic for your enjoyment in the great outdoors.

Southern Illinois is referred to as "Little Egypt" because it is culturally, geographically and economically quite different from its northern neighbors. The landscape is hilly and forested in contrast to Illinois' flat northern landscape. Bed and breakfast visitors can see the effects of the last ice age and the landscape it created at the Shawnee National Forest.

Illinois' diverse ethnic population provides the bed and breakfast traveler with the opportunity to enjoy a plethora of cuisines. Your bed and breakfast innkeepers will be sure to tantalize you with regional favorites such as the Amish specialties of Central Illinois or the eclectic wine and food offerings available at the wineries in Southern Illinois. The diverse international cuisine available in Northern Illinois will provide tempting choices for every bed and breakfast guest.
