The Alley section of downtown Aiken is a great place to see this confluence. Enjoying an Aiken bed and breakfast vacation is also about seeing the natural beauty of the area. The Hopeland Gardens will appeal to many bed and breakfast guests. This fourteen acre former estate home is now a public garden that has a canopy of trees and sweet smelling cedars. Inside the Hopeland Gardens is the Racing Hall of Fame and Museum, which celebrates horses trained in Aiken who have gone on to become National Champions. For a more authentic ecological experience, Aiken bed and breakfast guests should head to the Carolina Bay Nature Reserve, which is a natural wetland where human intervention is kept to a minimum. This is a great place for bed and breakfast guests to see wood ducks, Canadian Geese, salamanders and raccoons.
