Quick 3 Hour Rolls - Print Friendly Page



Ingredients:
3/4 cup milk (scalded)
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
2 packages yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup melted shortening
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour

Instructions:
Combine milk, salt and sugar; cool to lukewarm.
Combine yeast and water and add to above mixture.
Add 1 1/2 cups flour and set bowl in warm water for 1/2 hour.
Add shortening, eggs, and 2 3/4 cups flour.
Kneed to fairly stiff dough.
Return to warm water; let rise until double in bulk.
Make buns or sweet rolls. Bake at 375º for 20 to 25 minutes.
