Make Ahead French Toast - Print Friendly Page



  
Yield: 8 servings 

Ingredients:
1/4 lb Oleo
2 tablespoons Karo syrup
1 cup brown sugar
3 Granny Smith apples
1/2 cup raisins
1 loaf French or Italian bread (without seeds), sliced 1 1/2 inch thick
1 1/2 cups milk
6-8 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Place greased pan on stove top (low burner). Melt butter, syrup and brown sugar. Place apples and raisins in pan with bread on top. In separate bowl, mix milk, eggs and vanilla. Pour over bread in pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon & nutmeg. Cover with aluminium foil. Bake 45-50 minutes. Uncover and bake another 5 minutes. (Best is made ahead of time).
