Ingredients: 1 loaf cinnamon/raisin bread
3/4 cup sugar
8 oz half & half cream
7 eggs
3 egg yolks
1 stick butter, melted
1 Tbsp vanilla
3 cups milk
Whiskey-Brandy Sauce:
6 Tbsp butter
1 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup half & half
1 1/2 tsp whiskey or bourbon
1 1/2 tsp brandy
Simmer 10 minutes, stirring often.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray vegetable oil in a 9x13 casserole pan and layer the bread and melted butter. You should get six squares of bread 3 layers deep. Combine the rest of the ingredients and pour evenly over the bread.
Dust with cinnamon powder. Place casserole in a large pan with 1/2 inch of water in the oven. This avoids burning. Be careful not to spill water on yourself taking it out. Set on cool rack. Remove casserole from hot water carefully. Let sit 10-15 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar. Pre-slice into 12 pieces. Bake 50-55 minutes.
