Ingredients: 8 slices of thick white bread (Texas toast)
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
4 large eggs
Instructions: Mix heavy cream, salt, maple syrup, and eggs. Soak each piece of toast well.
Cook toast on a hot a griddle until golden brown flipping the toast once. Make sure toast is cooked through. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with warm pure maple syrup.
Notes: French toast is delicious accompanied by fresh fruit that is in season like strawberries, blueberries, peaches and figs.
During the Christmas season I add a pinch of nutmeg.
