Ingredients: Hawaiian King's Bread (Round loaf)
3 eggs
1/4 cup cream (or half and half)
1 tsp. vanilla
4 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup walnuts or pecans
1/3 cup brown sugar
Confectioner's sugar
Instructions: Beat eggs and add cream and vanilla. Slice 2 center slices from loaf and leave whole (1 inch thick). Dip into egg mixture.
Fry the dipped bread in 2 Tbls. butter in a medium frying pan. Turn to brown both sides. Remove toast and wrap in aluminum foil to keep warm. Add 2 more Tbls. of butter to frying pan and fry walnuts or pecans. Brown about 3 minutes on medium heat. Add brown sugar and remove from heat. Drop brown sugar and nut mixture on top of toast before serving and top with a sprinkling of confectioner's sugar. Great served with fresh pineapple slices and sausage on the side. Garnish with mint or exotic edible flowers.
Notes: Don't try to create this dish as a low fat
option. It needs the butter, cream, and real
brown sugar to make it taste rich and delicious.
