Ingredients: 1 tablespoon Organic raw granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose Organic flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried lavender buds, minced
1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1/2 cup Organic buttermilk
1 whole Organic egg
Instructions: Preheat oven to 375°.
In a large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients.
Add cold butter into the dry ingredients and with a fork cut butter into flour until mixture reaches consistency of coarse corn meal.
In a medium bowl, whisk together Organic buttermilk and Organic eggs; add mixture to dry ingredients.
Press mixture into a 1-inch high round; dont knead or over-work your dough.
Cut dough into 12 wedge-shaped pieces; place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake until lightly browned, 20-25 minutes.
Notes: Serve warm with butter, preserves or clotted cream if you can get it!
