Dear Innkeeping Friends,
We're delighted to announce that books live on and even more as eBooks, where sales tripled last year and are now running ahead of print. June sees the launch of our new eBook Travel Guides, which will be downloadable on Kindle, Nook, iBooks, iPod, and available for download on any smart phone. Total media marketing has long been our motto here at LPI, and now it is more important for our members than ever. The landscape is changing; Google has been surpassed by Yahoo, where we have long been a B&B presence and B&B travel expert. Facebook, Yelp, and Twitter all have roles to play in representing your inn to your guests. We work for you in all these formats and platforms. Marie is following up with Jim Evans, President of the Corporation for Travel Promotion after they attended Pow Wow, the premier International travel conference this week to make sure that this public/private organization knows that America's bed and breakfasts are some of the most-choice accommodations for international travelers, and help them find you. Sincerely, Pamela & Marie Lanier |

Maximum Exposure: Draw a Crowd with Talent
| |

By Carol Conlee
from Arrington's Inn Traveler
It was Marianne Williamson, author of A Return to Love and other wonderful books on the graces of life, who first triggered my thinking about the reality of talent. In her text she challenges actors and singers to "go ahead and act or sing" instead of waiting for a director's nod that their part is cast or their gig is booked. "If you have talent, use it. Everywhere." She urges, "If you can read a story to someone in hospital or sing a handful of songs in a nursing home, the universe gets the message that your gift is there for the sharing and people will find you..."

Meet
Stanley, Solomon, Sydney, & Olie
from Dripping Springs Resort

What do you call 4 wiggling dachshunds in your lap? A pack of weenies! Our boys are the noisy and rambunctious greeters at Dripping Springs Resort, and live in our quarters. Whenever Oliver sits down at his desk, all four of our puppers beg to be held, and he accommodates them. Since we became pet friendly we think our customers are more relaxed and friendly. I think pet people are the best! The biggest problem is preventing our guests from giving them too many treats.
P.S. We got 3 of them as rescues and urge everyone to adopt from shelters.
Congratulations Loving Pet Owners! (Smile Oliver!)
Look out for your special prize.
Good news, the contest continues... If you have a mascot that's destined for fame, send us pictures and a brief introduction to newsletter@travelguides.com. Only current Lanier BBIGI members are eligible. Is your membership current? Renew today
