Find Kindred Spirits in the Kitchen! Join us for a Writing, Cooking or Wine Tasting Seminar -- you'll not only learn a lot and leave with some great recipes, you'll make new friends!

On Tuesday night, June 17, 2008, The Blue Belle Inn B&B, St. Ansgar, IA, will host a Make-It-Now, Enjoy-It-Later Cooking Seminar called Easy Meals for Busy People! Attendees will take home 4 ready to bake main courses using the Homemade Gourmet concept of 4 Meals in 4 Minutes TM. The Blue Belle will have all the chicken, steak, pork, extra ingredients, herbs, spices and freezer bags needed to prepare a 4 servings each of Grandma’s Sunday Roast, Garlic Lemon Chicken, Southwest Chicken Supreme, and Garlic Basil Pork Chops. Guests will also sample Raspberry Velvet Fruit Dip, Tomato Basil Bread, Lemon Blueberry Muffins, and Texas Peach Cobbler and take home Blue Belle Inn recipes designed for making ahead and freezing. Time 6 – 9 p.m. Cost $65.00.

The Blue Belle Inn B&B, St. Ansgar, IA, will host an Anne of Green Gables Cooking Seminar, Tea party and House Tour on Thursday, July 17, 2008. Find Kindred Spirits in the kitchen - we’ll make, sample, and taste “Anne” recipes like Poetical Egg Salad Sandwiches, Diana Barry’s Raspberry Cordial, Marilla Cuthbert’s Sticky Toffee Pudding with Caramel Sauce (sans the mouse), PEI Crab Rolls, Very Berry Cheese Cobbler, and Cranberry Orange Loaf. We’ll savor excerpts from Lucy Maud Montgomery’s books during a delightful tea party, and finish with a tour of “Anne’s House of Dreams”. Time: 10-2 p.m. Cost $40.00.
