Monday, December 28 at 6:00 p.m. New York New Year’s Eve with live music by accomplished St. Ansgar alumnus Sandy May of the Glamazons!

Proceeds to benefit the Saints Legacy Fund, which supports St. Ansgar Schools. Silent auction, appetizers, wine and beer. Contact Nancy Woods at 641-832-7270 for tickets.

Sandy May was born and raised on a farm near Meyer, Iowa. Her first stage was the in the barn where she pranced around singing show tunes to her
father's cows and pigs!!! She continued to sing and dance throughout her years at St. Ansgar High School and she knew that this was her passion.
Sandy went to Riverland Community college where she was in every play and musical. While being in the nursing program, her dream of singing got
stronger and stronger. She decided to apply at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City and was accepted. The day she handed the
acceptance letter to her parents, her mother nearly fainted and her father got a sudden case of severe heart burn. They knew this was her dream so in 2001 they shipped her off to New York City. Sandy graduated from the academy in 2003 and shortly after joined the burlesque troupe The Glamazons and went by the name Candy Apple. That's when the work began. The Glamazons performed day and night, rehearsing, performing, and trying to make a name for themselves in this tough entertainment industry. In 2007, they were a huge hit on America's Got Talent where they placed in the top 5 out of hundreds of thousands of acts. They have toured the country and the world, proving to people that talent comes in all shapes and sizes. They are releasing their first album and are currently planning a tour. The Glamazons have inspired women of all ages to love themselves and to not be afraid to follow their
dreams. "We are paving the way for plus size women in the entertainment industry and I am so proud to be apart of that." Sandy wants to thank her family and her parents, Helen and Duane, for all their love and support.
