The Vermont Inn is located in Central Vermont which makes it the perfect location and starting point for seeing all of Vermont without any more than an hour and a half to two hours of driving in any one location. There is no need to pack up your belongings and move on to another location every other night. Why not just stay put right here in Central Vermont and embark each day on your adventures? We’ll send you off with an excellent breakfast in your bellies and be waiting for you when you return with late afternoon refreshments. Then you can relax and unwind before enjoying dinner right here in the Inn each night without the need to get back into the car to find a good meal.

Here is a sample itinerary for each day in Vermont:

Day 1 – Head North on Route 100 –and visit Waterbury where you can taste some Ben & Jerry’s Ice cream and take a tour of the factory and also visit Cold Hollow Cider Mill. Then head to Burlington to tour the Shelburne Museum & Vermont Teddy Bear Factory. Continue north and take a lunch cruise on Lake Champlain Cruises in Burlington. After lunch rent a bike and ride the bike path that circles Lake Champlain and then stop in at Lake Champlain Chocolate Factory for a tour and tasting and/or walk the grounds of the University of Vermont. On you return back south to the Inn, sample some fine foods at New England Culinary Institute (NECI) and stop by the capital building of Vermont in Montpelier.

Day 2 – Head South on Rt. 7 to Manchester and hit the village outlets for some great deals on clothing and many other items. Yes..there is a golf course in Manchester for anyone who wants to golf while others in your party shop to you drop. Visit the one of kind, Vermont Country Store where you will be taken back in time and where you will be able to find those hard to get items that you enjoyed when you were a kid.

Day 3 – Head East on Rt. 4 to Woodstock and visit Billings Farm, a favorite for young and young-at-heart, continue on Rt 4 to Queechee Gorge and take a walk and then enjoy lunch at Simon Pearce’s restaurant overlooking the water fall. Take a tour and shop for some wonderful glass gift items. After lunch head up to King Arthur Flour where you can see some cooking demonstrations, take a cooking class, and of course purchase anything you need for your baking needs in your kitchen. Don’t forget then to stop by Long Trail Pub on Rt 4 in Bridgewater where you can take a tour of the brewery and do some tasting of Vermont’s finest beers. If time allows, take in some history and visit the Calvin Coolidge homestead and State Park.

Day 4 – Stay local and visit the Vermont Marble Museum and gift shop – an excellent educational tour and museum for all ages just 20 minutes away. Drop by the Norman Rockwell Museum just 5 minutes down the road and learn more about this fine artist and shop for some nice gifts. Head to Rutland’s historic shopping district for lunch or head up to the Killington mountain and take a ride to the top on a gondola and dine at the Peak Restaurant. If you are up for adventure, stop by at Pico on your way back and take a ride on the Alpine Slide at Pico’s Adventure Center. If you visit brings you to Vermont during Late August, plan a few hours at the Vermont State Fair on the fair grounds in Rutland from August 29th to September 7th.
