At the southern end of Sonoma County is the quaint town of Petaluma, which has been featured in many movies including American Graffiti, Peggy Sue Got Married, Mumford and Phenomenon. The downtown, on the National Register of Historic Places, is packed with antique buildings, and the city has become a regional center for antique shopping. Petaluma has also been selected as one of the "Top Ten Bay Area Boating Destinations." Boaters love Petaluma because they can dock in the heart of Historic Downtown and walk to restaurants, antique and specialty shops, nightlife, parks and walking tours.
There are several walking tours, which feature Petaluma’s historic homes and downtown. These depart from the Petaluma Historical Library & Museum, 20 Fourth St. |
