Getting Around

It takes at least two days to visit all the areas in the park. Plan the trip and what you want to see and make each day count. The entrance fee to the park is $20.00 per vehicle. In Yosemite Valley regularly scheduled ranger led walks, talks and evening programs are held. Bus tours, guided horseback rides and bicycle rentals are all easily available. There are great paved bike paths that wind through the eastern end of Yosemite Valley. The weather is sunny with relatively warm days, although it can change quickly with an occasional mountain storm. Note: the Tioga and Glacier Point Roads are closed often until late May. Tire chains may be required even in spring.

The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias and historic Wawona are well worth a visit. In June, drive along Tioga Road to Tuolumne Meadows and go for a beautiful hike along the many trailheads to choose from there.
