Ellensburg is a bed and breakfast vacation destination that offers something for everyone. Olmstead Place State Park is a historic site as well as having great facilities for hiking, fishing and cross-country skiing. Another great place to enjoy the beautiful Ellensburg outdoors on a bed and breakfast vacation is the Wanapum Recreational Area, which is also home to the Gorge Amphitheater, which hosts major concert tours by well known artists. For bed and breakfast visitors who want to enjoy Ellensburg from their cars, there are scenic drives that can be easily enjoyed. State Highway 10 goes through the beautiful Upper Yakima River Canyon, while State Route 821 leaves downtown Ellensburg and becomes a winding, narrow drive that is covered with lush green foliage. For museum hopping, bed and breakfast visitors will enjoy the Kittitas County Historical Museum which will introduce the area. Central Washington University lends a lot of art and culture to Ellensburg bed and breakfast visitors, as well. The Sarah Spurgeon Gallery is a great place to see student work.
