There are many reasons to enjoy a Frederick bed and breakfast vacation. Many bed and breakfast visitors know Frederick to be one of the best cities on the East Coast for antique hunting. One antique shop that gets rave reviews from bed and breakfast visitors is Emporium Antiques, which has over 130 dealers. A lot of other wonderful antique shops are on and around Patrick Street. The rich history of Frederick is also worth exploring on a bed and breakfast vacation. The Barbara Fritchie House is a great way to see a preserved Civil War-era house, and the National Museum of Civil War Medicine is a great way to learn about how medicine was practiced during the Civil War. Frederick was once the home of Francis Scott Key, and bed and breakfast visitors can see a monument to him at Mount Olivet Cemetery, where he was buried. But despite all the museums, galleries and historic sites in Frederick, the Frederick surroundings are worth exploration by bed and breakfast visitors as well. Antietam Battlefield is only a short drive from Frederick, as is Monocacy Battlefield and Gettysburg.
